What is PEP?
- PEP consists of two academic phases designed to fully prepare participants for the college-level work that they will face when they enroll at Rhode Island College in the fall.
o Part 1: Beginning in the spring before college, PEP students come to campus one evening a week for six weeks to attend classes in study skills and to meet with their Student Support Services counselor.
o Part 2: During the summer before college, students live on campus for seven weeks of intensive academic study and take classes in writing and mathematics, as well as one freshman-level course for college credit. Tutors live in the residence halls with the students, so academic assistance is always nearby.
o Upon successful completion of both the spring and summer components, PEP students enroll as freshmen and have full access to the College’s Student Support Services program.
How to Apply to PEP:
- Call the Admissions Office at Rhode Island College at (401) 456-8234 or call the Student Support Services office at (401) 456-8237. What is the National Student Exchange Program?
- NSE is a program for undergraduate exchange within the United States and Canada. The program is a great opportunity to learn, earn credit towards your degree at RIC and see a different part of the country all at the same time. You pay the same tuition you pay for RIC to attend one of over 170 universities and colleges that participate in the program.
How to Apply:
- You must be a full-time RIC student in your sophomore or junior year and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Contact OASIS (the Office of Academic Support and Information Services) at (401) 456-8083 for an application.
